Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford has been an American dancer, actress and singer since the early 1990s. As a young actress, she appeared in Broadway roles, she played her role in Wicked Legally Blonde Hair. She was awarded an award from the Tony Award for Best Featured actress in a Play in the role of Essie Carmichael in You Can't Take It With You. Tony Award-winning actress Annaleigh Ashford is a veteran of the majority of her career working alongside renowned actors and directors in theatre and on television. she will continue that project with various upcoming ones. Ashford will be next in the role of Kumail Nanjiani in Robert Siegel's Hulu exclusive Welcome to Chippendales. It will premiere on 22nd November. Ashford is currently filming for Searchlight Pictures' horror thriller Dust which stars Sarah Paulson and Ebon Moss-Bachrach. It's also available as an Hulu Original on Disney DTC. It will be released in 2023, March. Ashford will return to Broadway and star opposite Josh Groban in the revival of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. Thomas Kail, director and producer of Hamilton will lead the production. Ashford was Paula Jones, the main actor in Ryan Murphy's upcoming FX series American Crime Story Impeachment. It is based upon the scandal that brought Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp and other principal characters into the first ever impeachment trial in the United States in more than 100 years. She starred in two seasons of the cult CBS comedy B Positive. In addition, she appeared on the popular series developed by Marco Pennette Chuck Lorre, with the legendary actresses Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo Ben Vereen. A veteran of Broadway Ashford has won both the Tony Drama Desk Award and the Outer Critics Circle Awards with her character Essie. Other Broadway roles for Ashford are Sunday in the Park, as George Wicked legally Blonde, as well as the role of Lauren in Kinky Boots. For this performance she received an Tony Award nomination. Ashford divides her time between Los Angeles & New York. Her birthplace was in Denver and was raised in Denver.
